Emin Selcuk gave table topic on "Rainy season and your memory"; Gail, on "Rainy season and your family life." Emin talked about his Toastmasters days in his youth, just after coming to America from Turkey.
Toastmastering was, in fact, one of the best way to master communication and leadership skills. "I myself was a coat hanger, when he put on his NEW suit without umbrella in a heavy rain like today," he said looking back those days.
"Singin' in the rain ...," Gail remembers Gene Kelly's spinning in the heavy rain,
by tapping her shoe on to the floor of meeting room, as if Gene steps into a pond of paved street.

The Division E International Speech Contest 2008 was held at Chikushino-city on 29 Mar 2008. Host club president, Shigeko Sanefuji of Dazaifu Toastmasters Club, gave Welcome Address. One of the highlight of the opening session was Congratulatory Address by Mayor of Chikushino City, Mr. Shiro Hirabaru. He gave his speech mostly in English.
"The presence of the host city mayor at the Toastmasters event - it's the first time; we never had before, thank you, Mayor Hirabaru," said Suzuki, District Governor.

TM N. Mori, a contestant from NaQ-TMC (Nakakyushu TMC), made speech on "To Have Children," as a top speaker of the contestants. Six contestants competed for only one position to proceed to the District 76 Contest.

Division E Japanese Speech Contest 2008 【日本語部門】
The contest was held at PAREA on 23 Mar 2008. Some dual members of NaQ-TMC took part in the event as the contest chair, a contestant, the chief judge and a judge.

Area 53 International Speech Contest 2008 (Miyazaki, 16 Mar 2008)
Area 53 Speech Contest 2008 was held at Miyazaki Shimin Plaza from 1:30 PM on 16 Mar 2008. TMs Tomoyoshi and Nachiko Mori attended as contestants. TM Mayumi Shimamura gave the opening address as Area 53 Governor; TM Ken Honda, the closing address as the visiting club president.
